Slidell police break up multi-million dollar burglary ring

Slidell Police announced Monday that they've broken up a multi-million dollar burglary ring that targeted check cashing establishments in four metro area parishes.

Three suspects are now in custody, accused of breaking into safes at check cashing outlets in St. Tammany, Jefferson, St. Charles and St. John the Baptist Parishes.

"These guys targeted high-volume cash businesses," said Slidell Police Chief Freddy Drennan.  "They were very sophisticated, very well organized, and did their job extremely well."

Police would not disclose an exact dollar figure of what the suspects are accused of stealing.
