The New Orleans Saints have a new offensive lineman. General Manager Mickey Loomis announced the team has signed rookie Brian Stamper.
The Saints describe the 6'5", 300 pound lineman as "a rare five-year starter at Vanderbilt, setting school records for games played (51) and started (48)."
He is from Windermere, FL. Loomis says Stamper overcame a career-threatening back injury to return to his role as starting right tackle and team captain in 2007, opening all 12 games for the Commodores.
The Saints have also waived lineman Kevin Tuminello.
The undrafted free agent took part in the team's rookie minicamp.
