Lights back on for most

Today's downpours did not feature a repeat of yesterday's power outages.  In fact, area power companies have restored power to most of the people who lost it yesterday.

"Luckily we were able to get working with those customers as quickly as possible, and got those 21,000 customers restored by evening time," said Entergy spokesman Morgan Stewart.  Stewart said a handful of customers in Kenner lost power today, but they were quickly restored.

On the northshore, CLECO says it's taken them some time to get all of their customers re-connected.

"It's a lot of off-road restoration," Robyn Cooper told WWL First News.

Washington-St. Tammany electric reported that as of late morning, they had 1,700 customers without power, and hoped to have them back on the grid by midnight.
