WWL First News has confirmed that Hornets head coach Byron Scott will be named NBA Coach of the Year on Tuesday.
The team has called a news conference for Tuesday morning, and it's expected an announcement will be made prior to tipoff of tomorrow night's home playoff game against Dallas.
Scott, who led the Hornets to a team record 56 wins this year and their first-ever division championship, beat out Celtics head coach Doc Rivers for the honor. It's Scott's first ever Coach of the Year award.
The NBA will announce at a later date the winner of the Most Valuable Player Award. Hornets guard Chris Paul is expected to be among the leading candidates. |
