Hornets' Scott to be named NBA Coach of the Year

WWL First News has confirmed that Hornets head coach Byron Scott will be named NBA Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

The team has called a news conference for Tuesday morning, and it's expected an announcement will be made prior to tipoff of tomorrow night's home playoff game against Dallas.

Scott, who led the Hornets to a team record 56 wins this year and their first-ever division championship, beat out Celtics head coach Doc Rivers for the honor.  It's Scott's first ever Coach of the Year award.

The NBA will announce at a later date the winner of the Most Valuable Player Award.  Hornets guard Chris Paul is expected to be among the leading candidates.
